Here are a few tools my business could not live without:
Aweber is the email list management service most pros use to manage their list building and newsletter mailings. Aweber has the best reputation on the web among Internet Service Providers and they work hard to keep it that way.
What does that mean?
It means the most email possible gets through to your subscribers.
Mailing from your own server is a huge no-no. Most of your mails won’t get past the ISP filters as your server is either unknown to them or even worse, it is know to them to be spammy (by their standards).
There are a few list management companies out there with good reputations, but for the money and the tools Aweber gives me, none of them come close to the value. Check out Aweber here.
WordPress Themes
There are two companies whose themes I really can vouch for because I use them on my own blogs.
The makers of the Thesis WordPress Theme. I use this theme on Friday Traffic Report and several other sites. If you don’t mind being a tad geeky and having the freedom to create just about any look and feel from the stock theme, Thesis is a heavily optimized theme for the search engines and the first “forward compatible” theme ever made for WordPress.
I use Woo Themes “City Guide” theme for my local blog and their “Inspire” theme for this site. I love how easy their themes are to configure along with all the options for making the theme my own look and feel without any coding whatsoever.
For themes that are set up and ready to go, for a really fast launch of a new site, Woo Themes are some of the best WordPress themes on Earth.
