Webside Chat with Dan Shawbel, Personal Branding Magazine

by Jack Humphrey

dan shawbelMeet Dan Shawbel. He’s what they call a “Millennial.” They are also called “Generation Y” and they aren’t interested in waiting for gold watches and retirement from corporate jobs they will have to hold for 30 years. I’ve been interviewing these guys lately, starting with Neil Patel, then Scott Bradley, and now Dan, and I am definitely seeing a trend here.

If you want to know what makes Generation Y tick, how to market to them, and how to excite them on their terms, which are pretty strict, then this Webside Chat is for you.

For Gen Y, social marketing and freely sharing information (that grandma and grandpa would shudder to think about sharing with the world) is the norm. Resumes are the second source of information on Gen Y’s accomplishments (or embarrassments) as HR managers are using the social sites to find out more about their job candidates.

Jack,

I really like how you talked about transparency on the web, and how you “classified” the fakers.

Dan,

Keep up the good work. Your passion for personal branding shines through in your voice/and through your blog. Keep it up!
