By now there should be no one saying that video isn’t an effective means of marketing and communicating online. If a picture says a 1,000 words then video speaks volumes! Now how many of you, knowing the power of video, actually use it to promote your business? If you don’t, then why not?
Oh, I can hear the excuses now, I don’t have a video camera, I don’t have fancy schmancy software, I have a face for radio, etc. (Okay, that might just be me. . .) Now what I am going to show you will eliminate all excuses!
How would you like to create professional looking video for your business for FREE?
Raise your hand if you are interested. . .
What if you didn’t have to know a darn thing about frame rates, compression, aspect ratios or any of that techno babble?
Okay a few more hands went up. . .
Alright, what if the only thing you had to do was upload some pictures and maybe an mp3 (background music).
Beautiful, I think that’s everybody!
Check out this little video I made of our dear friend Jack using the service at Animoto.com (I hope that he invites me back after this! Say good things about me, ok!)
Now this took me all of 20 minutes to do, mainly because I had to find photos and also because it takes Animoto about 5 minutes to format everything. Now if you were wondering about all of those transitions between the photos, sorry, Animoto does that automagically based on the rhythm within the song you choose. Cool eh?
For those of you who said that they don’t now how to make a video, now you do! Head to Animoto.com and play around with it.
Oh yeah, after you’ve made one, be sure to come back a post a link to the comments and show off your new video wizardry.

Hey Jack,
So the last gentleman in the video must be Fred? The author of this article?
I’ve created two videos so far using Animoto.com I really like them and it’s all free as long as under 30 sec.
I also created a promo video for my day job and it blew away my co-workers and they asked me why I wasn’t in marketing for a living? Well, I kind of am, at home.
Anyways, it was good meeting you in Vegas. Thank you for taking time to make me feel welcome.
Tak
Hey man - thanks for stopping by! Actually the guy in the photo with me at the end is Ron Capps. I think if Fred had any real guts he’d have dug up a picture of himself!
LOL!
I just want to play the role of the infamous “Mr. X” for 2 seconds, Jack! Cut me a little slack!

Hey Jack and Fred,
Thanks for the great tips as always. You Rock. The animoto tip alone was
incredible. I ended up staying up way too late messing around with it.
Here is my hand work from tonight. I am really excited about the possibilities of this tool.

Kris,
Damn! That is really cool! I think Fred’s video having me in it made me think the software was “ok” but when you take me out of it, Animoto is pretty cool!
Good job - do you know how much you’d pay for that video in the “real” world?
Yes…it would cost one kidney and one child.
Thanks again!
Kris
Good job Kris!
I have to agree with Jack, a video without him in it is much better :-).
Seriously though, congratulations to you and Tim for taking action and creating your videos and sharing them with us! Don’t forget to put it up on youtube.
