Really cool file sharing site goes beta…
April 11, 2007
I use StumbleUpon a lot lately and I have to tell you, if you aren’t using it for researching what’s going on in your market, you are missing out big time.
StumbleUpon is a tool bar that watches the kinds of sites you surf and then allows you to “stumble upon” sites like it.
It is WAY better than a search engine because the sites you find are not just any sites related to the kinds of sites you frequent; they are the best of the best sites you can find on the web in your interest area.
This is because they are ranked by votes of StumbleUpon users, so the very good stuff bubbles to the top.
Here is one I found that I would never have found until it got super big: Tubes.
It is a file sharing site like no other I have seen. It is peer-to-peer desktop sharing and you can make a “tube” for friends, associates, colleagues, employees, whomever.
Drop a video into a tube and everyone you invited to it gets it on their desktop with no fuss, no FTP, no restrictions on file size, and no emailing!
I find stuff like this all the time and it helps with business ideas, reasearch, and keeping up on my niches.
Check out StumbleUpon.com today. It is also a great traffic-driving tool for your sites!

My top Social Power Linking traffic sources last week…
February 26, 2007
Scanning my log files I noticed some traffic sources, other than search engines, pushing more traffic than others last week.
Telling you about my top producers should help you to get into Social Power Linking more knowing what is working rather than fumbling around trying out everything yourself.
I try them all, so I will continue reporting on what’s working so you can save some time and focus only on producers.
This site is simple. You get a toolbar button when you sign up and you can “Like” or “Dislike” any site or page you wish. You can mark up your pages, but it is also good to vote for other sites in your niche for research purposes.
This is helpful because StumbleUpon.com creates a track record of your surfing habits and you can “Stumble” to new sites and resources you’ve never seen before to keep up on your niche.
2. PlugIM.com
I’ve mentioned these guys before, but they continue to send me traffic as I post “stories” (like this post) on their Digg-style site. Everytime I post there I get trafficf and it takes literally under a minute.
I do this everytime I post.
3. MarkTD.com
Same thing as above. Both are for marketing content, but sites like this are popping up all over the place and will continue to do so over the next year. You should be able to find sites like these in your niche now or soon.
I like these kinds of sites so much I made one for the Friday Traffic Report.
If you have marketing related content, put my IMNews on your list to post to often.
It’s brand new and most categories have nothing in them, but as you can see, I am sending traffic over there and it will fill up and start generating good targeted traffic on its own very soon.
It would pay to be the first in a category!
