Want to peek inside Social Power Linking? We granted Davin Ogden, a Social Power Linking member, access behind the scenes to expose just what’s inside.
He didn’t think our sales materials properly conveyed the value of SPL. He’s right. Maybe this look inside Social Power Linking will show people just how serious we are about over delivery!

Social Power Linking Community 100 Strong in 24 Hours
December 18, 2007
Edit: SPL blew past the 200 member mark today, December 20th. Many reviews from members are posted below…
—
Without much fanfare, no months long teaser campaign, and zero hype, Social Power Linking re-launched yesterday.
Over 100 people signed up to experience something they weren’t expecting: a packed-to-the-gills training center on web 2.0 social marketing and Power Linking tactics designed to boost any site’s traffic from insignificant to major niche player in a short amount of time.
Traffic that, if you were to pay for it via Adwords or by hiring an SEO firm, would cost you tens of thousands of dollars per year. Power Linkers, of course, don’t pay for traffic we can get for free.
And our organically driven traffic is more qualified and converts higher than your average Adwords traffic.
We Might Have Done 200+ If Our Price Was Higher!
Because everyone has been trained over the last year to think that quality means paying $997.00 for a course or $197.00 per month for a membership, we had a lot of people thinking this was a hastily thrown together “side show” community.
Some figured it was just a lead in for ASC with light content to tease them to a higher priced membership.
On all counts, those folks were wrong.
What we are doing with our low price point is pricing for volume. Many gurus tell people when creating products to work up to large ticket items. Now people are simply launching formerly $20-$50/month sites at $97-$197.00. Same volume and quality of content as before, just higher priced because they see “everyone else” doing it.
Also, a lot of people know their product only appeals to a certain number of people and they have to price it high to make a profit on low sales volume. That’s natural and good.
But Social Power Linking appeals to the masses.
The market for people looking to get more free traffic to their sites is massive. Combine what people are charging hundreds or thousands per month for, with mass appeal and low price point, and you have SPL.
Our Network Must Be Big
Because we have things built into the community like content swaps, keyword swaps, and other tactics to help members network and get more valuable links, bigger is better. The more members we have, the more opportunities for individual members to pick up killer links and traffic.
So we are doing really cool stuff to ensure we hit our first benchmark at the end of January of 1000 members.
Everyone who signs up for SPL automatically gets enrolled in the affiliate program. When a member writes a review or a success story using one of our tactics with their affiliate link embedded, their site gets promoted by our staff!
When is the last time you joined an affiliate program and got promoted by the product owner’s staff of Power Linking Ninjas?
That’s just what we do. We get you links, votes in the social sites, submissions and any other links we can for you. Think what that does for your affiliate sales. Now, think what that will do for your entire domain in the engines and for list signups, sales, and direct traffic all over your domain!
We, of course, promote your review page, but we are increasing the value and link popularity of your whole domain in the process.
That’s worth $29.95 about 100 times over.
That’s a peek at how we’ll be building this membership to thousands of Power Linkers in short order. Everyone involved with the community will benefit in so many ways for so little money that it will take off like a California wildfire.
So, if you are one of the thousands who took a look yesterday but decided it was too good to be true, take another look because once in a blue moon something actually is better than advertised.
We don’t like to have massive launches and make people sick of hearing from us through our hundreds of JV partners. It’s not our style. But don’t let the fact that people aren’t lighting themselves on fire to get your attention about this fool you into thinking it’s not the place for you to be to grow your presence on the web.
Give Social Power Linking a try for 30 days.
If it isn’t paying for itself with just one good link you pick up that might otherwise cost you $50+ per month if you had to pay for it, just ask for a refund. Simple.

Authority Site Center Updates
November 6, 2007
New from ASC…
We’ve been upgrading our membership services to include a lot more training and contact with coaches and staff.
New Webinar Center
We are using a a new webinar center to have more training events more frequently. A new series of short 10-15 minute training videos will be recorded with this software. Topics include: Outsourcing, Content Development for Main and Remote Sites (like HubPages, Squidoo, and blog sites like Xanga).
Video Training Center
Our video training center now houses well over 100 videos from using Cpanel, to Wordpress and plugins, claiming your blog on Technorati and MyBlogLog, and Blog Marketing topics galore including exclusive “Bending the Web” training.
We have a whole section on common Wordpress Plugins. A section dedicated to publishing on the ASC system from working with your blog to posting tactics that related to our Post and Rank (TM) technology.
Weekly Coaching Calls
We have two weekly coaching calls (Monday and Thursday) where our coaches and senior ASC members train on all facets of Research, Publishing and Marketing with the ASC system as well as answering questions you have about anything to do with those topics.
New Member Orientation
Orientation is a big deal with a site this big. We found that people were getting lost at times and needed some guidance on where to start and how to find everything in this “library” of tools and resources. Now with the new member orientation calls you can get on the line and get a personal tour from Program Director Sam Clark.
There isn’t a bigger, better internet marketing membership site on the Planet. Starting off in the right direction and learning where to find the tools you need right away is a big time saver.
ASC Newsletter
Our newsletter consists of articles and training by staff, partners, and senior ASC members who have lots to teach. It comes out once per month and is chock full of useful traffic driving, content development, and search engine marketing tactics.
Customer Support
Our support system is second to none with the addition of our new Support Director David Olsen. Tickets are being answered and members are being helped with lightening speed, which is a major deal in the internet marketing world.
Results
Case study after case study is finding our members driving more traffic than they ever did before joining ASC, capturing more leads, making more sales, and ranking in the engines for hundreds and even thousands of keywords people are typing in to find them. (Not just “vanity keywords.” Real keywords people are really using to hit ASC member sites. There’s a BIG difference there!)
There is no better time to be a member of ASC.
With the opportunities for promotion expanding exponentially, the opportunity to become mighty confused and disorganized is also increasing for DIY web marketers. Publishing on the most powerful, optimized platform and getting the training and tools you need to manage and grow an Authority web presence is absolutely crucial to the success of sites bringing in 500-10,000+ visitors per day.
Check out Authority Site Center today, risk free, and feel what it’s like to become a true, high-traffic Authority in your niche.

March 21, 2007
From Laura Childs at StampedeSecret.com:
“Is Web 2.0 Your Enemy?
Web 2.0 sites are your competition (for eyeballs and positioning in the search engines), but they’re not your enemy. After all, you could build your own Web 2.0 site, market the snot out of it and take back your rightful position…”
In her post, Laura makes it clear that Web 2.0 is not a thing to fear, but to adopt as part of your own marketing plan.
Since it isn’t going anywhere (interactive, user-controlled sites are being popped out onto the web at a break-neck pace) everyone with a website and formerly great rankings needs to understand and utilize the positives about Web 2.0 instead of trying to bully their way through their markets with old tactics that don’t work anymore.
There are many good points made by Laura in her post, and she also has a lot of other great information to help online marketers understand where the web has been, where it is now, and where it’s going.

Lost in the wilderness of the web? Stop Waiting For Gurus To Save You!

Jack’s Targeted Traffic Survival Guide
Forget “social media,” “social networking,” social this…social that.
Forget about the buzz words for just a minute. Forget there is a widely used name for people networking through newfangled websites.
I won’t even mention the name in this post. It’s been beaten to death.
Forget all that and just start looking around at places like MyBlogLog.com, StumpbleUpon.com, SpicyPage.com and others I will list below.
Sites like mine, and tens of thousands of people who are serious enough about their sites, we build communities.
We network and look for new players coming up in our niches and new sites to read and learn. .
Surviving in the Wilderness of the Web
In my former life I was into wildlife tracking and wilderness survival and conservation in a big way. Full time. Professionally.
It was common to hear about people dying in the wilderness after getting lost, hurt, or stuck.
Most of the time it’s not their fault, but many people whose lives end sadly, alone in the wilderness, die within mere yards of everything they needed to survive and make it out.
They just didn’t know anything about wilderness survival.
Most websites are like those people. They are dying because they don’t know the things that will save them are all around them.
Everyday someone whose site is about to die, a person who is just about ready to give up all hope of having a successful, high traffic site, passed right over several of the sites that could save theirs.
And they don’t even know it.
In the rush and panic to find a guru to save them, they are totally blind to the things they could do today to bring in traffic IMMEDIATELY and start making sales, advertising revenue, PPC income, and affiliate product sales.
You Could Be The Next One To Go…Or Not!
Start thinking for yourself.
Start being a student of the things people in your niche are doing to kick the tar out of you in the search engines and with traffic from all over the place.
Start “tracking success” and see what the other “animals” are doing to survive in the wilderness of the web. Not the gurus. They are artificially propped up on the web and have fading memories of what it was like starting out.
That’s why much of the time their advice falls on deaf ears and doesn’t work for startups because they have advantages that you don’t yet.
They have a place to sleep out of the cold of the wilderness of the web.
They have heat, plumbing, a bed, clothing, food, and a roof over their heads.
You are in the middle of nowhere, cold, wet, with nothing more than a dull knife and boots with holes in them.
Stop looking up the mountain for answers and start looking around you, where you are now, for firewood, water, and materials to build a temporary place to keep you warm and dry.
The Internet Marketing Guru Is Dead
We, the survivors, killed him. We stopped waiting for him to understand our plight and started thinking for ouselves.
You don’t need an internet marketing “guru” or expert’s latest ebook to successfully drive traffic and build a loyal following online anymore.
I have learned more from people like Divya about building community, readership, a following and customer lists than all the Guru expert training, teleseminars, and ebooks I have read, combined. (That’s a lot of reading folks!)
Does Divya have an ebook I can sell you? NO!
She, like so many others I have been tracking and bumping into at site after site, are showing me through their actions how they are successfully using interactive, user controlled “social” sites to drive serious traffic to their own sites.
They are the people who show up everywhere I surf!
Remember in Power Linking when I talk about “showing up everywhere your target market surfs?”
People are taking that thought to heart and actually doing it without waiting for someone to come out with an easier way or creating software to do it for them!.
Their goal is to drive traffic, build a following, and brand themselves and they keep doing it because the work never ends.
There is too much to do to sit around wondering which traffic generation tactic you are going to use.
Everything you need to drive targeted traffic and survive another day in the wilderness of the web is laying all around you, right on this site.
Here are some of the tools and materials that will keep you warm and dry another day in the wilderness:

7 Blog Promotion Strategies That Work
January 11, 2007
I just finished looking at my stats and thought I would show you where my traffic is coming from and what marketing tactic I used to get it.
Below are only the things that produced visitors to my site in the last 48 hours. Nothing theoretical whatsoever.
1) Search Engines
Yesterday was my biggest day yet with this new site platform and the performance is unlike anything I have ever experienced before.
I had more search engine traffic from more phrases in one 48 hour period than ever.
From very nice short tail keywords like “video syndication” to fat long tail phrases like “how to get more friends on myspace.”
And everything in between.
How do I do so well in the engines?
I use the very best publishing system on Planet Earth. Nuff said.
2) Article Syndication
LOL - right? Wrong. Article syndication is still a very powerful traffic driver if you do it properly.
Rather than try to be on every article directory on the web, I go for the most important article directories on the web.
I also write the best content I can on highly relevant, topical, hot issues in my niche.
I do not wirte and syndicate articles for links. I write for traffic. Huge difference most people completely ignore.
I syndicated this article over the weekend and am getting traffic from the following article sites:
I will get traffic from many others, but I am only showing you today what happened to drive real targeted traffic in the last 24 hours. (People don’t do this anywhere else that I know of by the way!)
I syndicate my articles exclusively with SubmitYourArticle.com.
3) News Readers
Because I have several feeds to choose from, and a wide range of related topics I publish on, I have feed subscribers on all kinds of readers.
In the last 24 hours I have gotten traffic from people using feed readers from:
- Yahoo
- Bloglines
- Delicious, and
- different versions of desktop readers like MyWebTop.com.
4) Links
I’ve gotten significant traffic in the last 48 hours from sites such as:
and many many others.
These are link partnerships or just people pointing to specific posts here and commenting on their blogs.
The better your content, the more people comment and trackback your site. So good content equals good link traffic.
5) TrafficSwarm
I get a good amount of traffic each day from TrafficSwarm, which is no new kid on the block.
I have tested the traffic from this service and opt-in rates are good, meaning the traffic isn’t junk traffic, if you were wondering.
They have a free and paid version. Don’t bother with it on the free level. It is extremely inexpensive traffic compared to Adwords and Co-registration, and there are other benefits of membership aside from direct traffic and subscribers.
6) Video Syndication
I have been doing screen capture blog marketing videos lately and syndicating them on all the free video sharing sites available.
Since I started (I have only done 4 so far) I can attribute top 10 rankings in Google for terms like “blog marketing videos” and many others to this marketing tactic alone.
Since video sharing sites are all popular (none of the sites I syndicate videos to are under PR5, most PR6 or higher) the links are worth a lot and the traffic is great each time I submit a video.
Video syndication will be one of the buzz phrases of 2007. Glad I am in the top 10 for that phrase too!
7) Tagging and Pinging
Or simply posting properly and showing up automatically (and practically instantly) in places like Technorati which track blogs, is a big daily traffic driver.
Right after I post this I will see traffic from Technorati and other sites that I ping.
Kind of encourages me to post regularly knowing every post brings me more traffic and another chance to score in the engines for more keywords.
If you don’t know how this is all done, the best information available on the subject is from Sean Wu.
Again, the above tactics all resulted in real, live, free targeted traffic to the Friday Traffic Report in the last 48 hours.
Thought you’d like to see what is working based on my actual log files rather than more theoretical pieces from people who don’t necessarily use the tactics they push to drive traffic to their own sites.

December 30, 2006
If you find yourself looking around for the “holy grail” of driving targeted traffic all the time, it is because marketers and scammers come up with elaborate, unreal schemes to trick search engines and visitors while making up crazy stories that somehow fool you into thinking they know what they are talking about.
We must be approaching several hundred million dollars spent by online business owners on junk traffic schemes in their quest for that holy grail. That “big red button.”

December 26, 2006
Search Engine Journal has a tidy list of 7.5 ways to get banned from search engines.
I would add one more to the list:
8.5: Trying to learn what’s right or wrong on your own, using a publishing system that makes you responsible for hundreds of decisions about how to promote yourself on the web.
2007 will see “Content Marketing” come into its own. Average people with great ideas and desire to work on the web who no longer have to have a PhD in search engine optimization.
Post and Rank Technology is here, now. It is the great equalizer. Not between you and big corporations. Between you and the search engine geek squad that used to rule the internet.
Without having to worry about getting ranked or [tag]getting traffic[/tag], it is now incumbent upon publishers to have good ideas and good content only. Everything else is taken care of.
IF you are publishing on the right system.

Here is a prime example of what a good list can do for your blog…
Take special note of the following:
1. It is funny in that some tips contradict each other.
2. It is useful.
3. Each item is to the point and actionable.
4. Seth Godin did it, so it has to be useful! (So have thousands of other bloggers, including me. It works!)
Also check out the amazing number of trackbacks Seth’s list post received.
Can you build a resource list that does this for your blog? Give it a shot! More blog marketing tactics…
