10 Killer Blog Tools
July 25, 2008
Blogging the right way can be very time consuming and energy-draining. To get great posts, and to keep your content very fresh, you have to really stay on top of your game. How do you know where to focus your energy? Where can you cut a few corners and save some precious time? Here is a list of the 10 Killer Blog Tools, ones that are sure to save you time and energy.
- Utility Poster: This software gem works with any blogging platform or system, allowing you to drag and drop to any text box. Write great on-topic posts quickly with this program. Utility Poster searches blogs for your keywords, sorting through and quickly sending you in the right direction for content. Drag and drop any posts right to your blog.
- TrackBoost: Combine this weapon with Utility Poster and you have the perfect blogging combination. TrackBoost tracks your links, and has the features of a full HTML editor. TrackBoost only works with self-hosted WordPress blogs, this way TrackBoost has the ability to upload or change any existing posts.
- Video Utility Poster: This software works like Utility Poster, but taps the seemingly infinite video databases of YouTube and Truveo to compile quick, relevant, rich keyword posts in just minutes around any topic anyone has ever created videos for. Drag and drop videos with titles and descriptions to any kind of editor from your own blog to social media sites and “remote” blogs like MySpace.
- Google Alerts: Sign up for this free service from Google, set up your keywords, and have relevant posts delivered to your inbox on a daily basis. You’ll be quickly able to scan through and check out any good leads.
- Image Control: Most of us like to add in some pictures, it breaks up the text a lot. But, working on those images, resizing them, adjusting, cropping, all that stuff takes up a whole lot of time. You can spend a whole lot less time resizing images by using an automatic image editing software. Picasa is a great choice for this.
- Tumblr: Don’t like to write too much? Try this super-quick posting tool to get you going. Share your thoughts, IMs, videos, photos, and more with little effort. Posts are published in a “tumblelog” format for quick review, too.
- Foxmarks: When the perfect idea pops into your head, but it’s just not a convenient time to blog about it, using Foxmarks can help you keep your ideas organized and remind you of what your great idea was.
- Jott: Are you constantly on-the-go? Now you can blog from your phone from anywhere, using Jott. Jott is compatible with many blogging platforms, like WordPress, Blogger, Typepad, and more.
- CoLT: Instead of all the right clicking, copying, and pasting, how about copying either a hyperlink’s text or both the link and text at the same time? With this handy Firefox add-on, you have your choice. No excess clutter on your toolbar, either, the items pop up and become visible only during right clicking on links.
- AutoCopy: Another brilliant add-on for Firefox; forget the dinosaur days of “Control+C” then “Control+V,” now you can just automatically add highlighted text to your clipboard and paste with ease.
Get going with these 10 Killer Blog Tools, and you’ll find yourself better than you ever dreamed of at blogging. It won’t be a chore anymore to keep up with your posts and your content, when you have these helpful tools in your toolbox! The day that blogging changed forever…
May 6, 2008
Hey, drama is fun sometimes. I don’t know if we’re “changing blogging” today, but we’re making it a heck of a lot easier without sacrificing quality content development and link building.
In fact, we’re enhancing bloggers’ ability to post more regularly with relevant, keyword-tight utility posts while gaining all the links we’ve all missed for lack of time to search them out.
We’re doing this in 10 minutes when we open up Trackboost for sales at 12 p.m. EST.
The biggest problem every blogger I have ever talked with (and that would be thousands) is the amount of time it takes to get good quality content together on the days between the big, lengthier posts are scheduled.
Close behind that is the time it takes to get premium linkage. Those are links that come to your site with keywords in the anchor text and where actual human beings flock to click on them.
If you’re being honest about your daily life as a blogger, you know you’ve got a problem. I do. We all do.
One need only check out the latest stories in the blogosphere and you’ll inevitably find stories about overworked, out of shape, stressed out, heart-attack-waiting-to-happen bloggers who really could use a bit of their lives back.
So, we made software to help.
And now, it launches in 7 minutes. Gotta go. Enjoy your new found freedom from blogging and promoting every minute of the day!
