An Authority Site Is Born

Witness the birth and evolution of a new authority site created and marketed by our team and written by two talented, professional writers.

The site, TeenCheckup.com, is, of course, a blog. The “big bang” happened this week with the site setup, new content, and initial indexing by the engines.

If you want to see how an A-List blog progresses from humble beginnings to wild popularity, this is a blog to watch. This is where we prove our methods work.

I will be posting updates here on each benchmark and success story and will try to be as transparent as possible without giving away too many of the secrets that people pay us a worthwhile chunk of money for each month.

2. Buzz - watch our professionally researched and expertly written content grab links and mentions from around the web from other bloggers.
3. Rankings - we are already showing up in the engines on keywords from the first few articles published this week. As our authority grows, watch how many keywords we’re showing up for in Google and elsewhere.
4. Traffic - I will report back here with daily unique visitor counts every so often and give hints as to how we are increasing our traffic over time.

Success Comes From Striving To Be The Best

…at least as far as authority site building goes.

Being the best pays really, really well in many markets. Take your pick from among the places you’ve listed in your bookmarks. I’ll wager there are some millionaires, and billionaires, behind some of the sites you’ve marked as favorites and visit often.

I can also tell you that whatever those sites are about and whatever markets they are in, there are thousands if not tens of thousands of people who want to be where they are and haven’t come close.

Success is all around you every time you logon… 

There are millionaire bloggers. There are millionaire service and special interest site owners from dating to gossip to untold numbers of entertainment sites. There are millionaire consultants, coaches, wine connoisseurs, travel experts, information sales people, writers, authors, speakers, and show offs.

There are millionaire jokesters. Millionaire marketers. Millionaire self-help gurus.  Million and billionaire software programmers.

There are artists, poets, musicians, and shopping cart owners of every kind selling things you’d never dream would produce millions in sales.

The one thing - the only thing - that sets the thousands upon thousands of success stories on the web apart from everyone else is that they are all considered the best source of whatever they provide. They might not even BE the best.  It’s kind of subjective, you know. But enough people think that they are, and that means that they do very, very well with their web businesses.

What It Takes To Be Among The Best

1. You absolutely must have a unique “voice” on the web. It can be through your unique products or services or your actual voice, whether written or audio/video.
2. You HAVE to stand out in your niche as much as the people you follow stood out to make you bookmark their sites.
3. Seth Godin said it best.  The word “remarkable” took on new meaning when he wrote “Purple Cow.”  You absolutely have to find a way to bring remarkable service, content and products to your niche that just blows everything else away, or at least blows away enough of the competition that you are right up there with the best of the best in your niche and making the money you want to make with your business.
4. Sometimes you don’t have to be the best.  Just better than the vast majority of your competition.  If you find yourself running from a bear in the wild,  you don’t have to outrun the bear.  You just have to outrun the person running next to you!
5. Pull heart strings, tell great stories, engage people, be real, be honest, go the extra mile, do things no one else will do to win visitors and business.  You’d be surprised how easy it is to stand out and be remarkable by simply keeping your word, supporting your customers, and providing superior customer experience!
6. Be ultra creative and open your mind beyond the status quo of whatever is hot in your market at the moment.  Lead, do not follow.  Set trends, don’t wait to capitalize on them after someone else sets them.
7. Be the first.  Do something no one has ever done.  Give away what people sell and sell what people are giving away.
8. Find out what everyone else is doing in your market and then run to meet the needs of everyone in the market that your competitors have not satisfied.  You’ll be surprised how many people are still waiting for something remarkable to happen!
9. Learn to give and give freely.  Let go of everything you think is supposed to be done only a certain way and change the whole game that’s being played in your market.  Break rules and break the bank.
10. If everyone is selling something in your market, learn how to give it away and make twice as much money with the following you attract.  (This is being done with great success in a lot of places!)
11. Work harder and longer than everyone else is willing to work.  Picture what your ultimate goal is and then picture what you wouldn’t do to achieve it.  And then stop complaining about how much work it is and get to work!

By now you know, especially if you’ve seen Highlander, that there can be only one “best.”  But reading between the lines you also know that you are not required to be the actual best to win big.

I would nominate countless other bloggers as “the best” before me. But my blog and what it’s brought me thus far suits me just fine while I continue to work toward becoming the best in my market.  And I know that long before I ever become the best I will be able to retire without a care in the world.

Here’s to never having to be the best to have one hell of a life!

New ASC Case Study PDF

We’ve just released a new case study document featuring 8 members of ASC, their sites, stats, and stories. This is a very fair case study. Although we are in the business of marketing and selling our product, we don’t believe hype is necessary to do so. When you’ve got the goods, you can sit back and let the product speak for itself.

Authority Site Review - JoyofCamping.com

The JoyofCamping.com is one of the most impressive sites in the Authority Site Center arsenal of over 1500 member sites.

Owned and operated by Myrtha Chang, the site is coming along so well in both design, content, and traffic that you’d think Myrtha has been with us for well over a year.

In fact, she started earlier this year to really bring this site out of “baby authority” status.

Here I delve into what makes this site tick in design, content, traffic, and pure value as a business asset.

Traffic

Myrtha is using the Authority Site Center publishing platform to turn on the engines and the ASC marketing tactics to bring in targeted traffic.  Last I heard she was averaging 500 unique visitors per day by the end of her first month!
Design

This is also one of the “prettiest” sites in the ASC network of sites. The design is well done, professional, and looks like a $10,000+ job done by a master web designer.

Myrtha went the extra mile to have a killer logo designed to give a top-tier feel to the site. This is clearly not a weekend-blogger’s blog site. Nor does it feel much like a blog when you are on it. Most people who visit her site have no idea that they are on a blogging platform.

Premium Content

Myrtha is working very hard on content, clearly, and visitors seem to be interacting well in the comments. Notice how her content is well-thought out and hits points that campers in her niche are interested in. It’s also good to note that she holds a good balance of text and graphics. This gives the site a top-tier portal look that, in my opinion, competes with the likes of REI and other major outfitters. Except she has better, real content and isn’t just a shopping cart!

The trick for sites like this is to balance content and advertising so things don’t look too overwhelming. Many sites screw this up when they find hundreds of affiliate programs and PPC advertising - they try to put it all in there all at once without testing what will bring in the most money with the least intrusion on the visitor experience.

List Building

Myrtha has created an incredible list building tool in her 28 page camping cookbook. In exchange for signing up for her list she’s giving away something people would normally expect to purchase. She’s also got the graphic and opt-in form in one of the highest attention-grabbing areas of her site, the upper left corner.

Value

While I didn’t have a chance to check in with Myrtha on how she’s doing lately with traffic and list building, her first month she was able to begin getting 500 unique visitors per day.

That, combined with a dedicated readership and growing web presence with incoming links, search engine positions, and direct traffic, makes what she’s built so far worth more than she’s paid in developing it and the training she’s received on building authority sites. (That includes Elite Coaching which is offered at ASC and costs around $9000.00!)

So while others build sites that depend 100% on advertising for traffic, because the sites cannot rank in the engines and have no platform for building links and getting direct traffic, Myrtha is building a major asset for her authority site business.

And the value of the site, along with the income of a properly monetized and promoted site, just keeps growing month after month.

John Reese Authority Video

John Reese just put up a video from his StomperNet Live keynote speaker presentation.  I’m still a bit foggy this morning as I decompress from a long day of flying and delays along with some kind of head cold I always seem to get when I fly and breathe that recycled air on the plane.

How to make money online with an authority site: A case study

There is much discussion going around about the Authority Site Center and the kind of sites we build.

Though dissent is expected, I am very much blown away how little there is compared to the praise we’ve been getting on our authority site building technology and training.

One of the main questions people ask is “Do these sites make money” followed quickly by “How much traffic and how fast?”

We Melted Our Servers Again Yesterday…

Every once in awhile I will see forum posts in different places about Authority Site Center where people remark that our servers must not be very good.

If you tried to visit The Friday Traffic Report last night and it wouldn’t load, you might think so as well.

Actually this site and many of our members’ sites are hosted on a server that is the top of the line server from LiquidWeb.com.

It has 4 cpus and 4 gigs of ram!

You can’t get a better server than the one I am on.

So why the downtime yesterday?

In one word: Traffic!

This site gets about 4500-5000 visitors per day. There are a few sites on this server that get far more than that.

And the average ASC site on this server is getting 200+ visitors per day minimum.

Most members are still wondering why they are getting so much traffic with our system, but they aren’t complaining about the mystery. They are just happy they’ve finally found something that works as promised.

Members are driving targeted traffic because of the SEO friendly and proprietary software we’ve developed over the past 2 years.

Another comment that is common in forums outside ASC is that “ASC is just Wordpress and some fancy plugins. And I can do that on my own without signing up for a membership there!”

It’s probably our fault that misconception continues to linger. Somehow we’ve not communicated just what it is that makes the above statement 100% wrong.

Partially it is because we don’t want corporate spies trying to get ahold of the secrets, and part of it is because our sales material buries the facts in the overall explanation of why and how we can generate results for our members that no one else has been able to touch.

That’s why we attract a whole different crowd of people to ASC. And we like it that way.

You have to become a mature, business-minded person to succeed on the web. While everyone is tempted in the beginning to get into “too-good-to-be-true” fluffy “business opportunities,” there comes a time when men separate themselves from boys and get real about what they want out of life.

Those in the small percentage of people who “get it” are members of ASC. They are workers. They have their own ideas for their online businesses and don’t follow crowds and fads (anymore) that always end up watered down and fruitless for everyone involved.

The most successful sites on the web are owned by people who split off from the pack and did something, as Seth Godin would say, Remarkable.

That’s why when people follow trends and fads where everyone is encouraged to jump aboard and do the same thing as everyone else, whether MLM or spam sites, thousands of people without the benefit of any business experience whatsoever get duped and get mad.

You see, if you have any business experience at all, you know that there are rules involved in success. Most people selling business opportunities and schemes are breaking those rules knowing most people will fall for them.

You never EVER get something for nothing.

You never get true secrets to success and wealth for pennies on the dollar.

People who come to us at ASC are tired of all that and are doing something for their future that cannot fail to pay off for them if they work and learn from the professionals who build true asset-oriented authority businesses online.

When’s the last time you heard of anyone who sells traffic driving software, training, or coaching actually blowing up the most expensive servers in existence?

You don’t hear about it because it doesn’t happen. No one follows up and tells the public about the thing they sold months ago actually working today.

Let alone something from a company that’s been growing for over 2 solid years! That is ancient on the web for a successful system of any kind!

Well, I am here today to report that our members are happy, thrilled, that they are finally building a business that works because they are finally realizing that the one main secret of success: It is buckling down and learning from people who know how authority site building is truly done.

Anyway, that should dispel the mythology floating around out there from people too scared of success to actually come in and try it out risk free. It’s not like there’s any risk whatsoever to find out first hand if we are legit or not.

(You’d think after 2 years and very public promotions, that if ASC was some kind of scam it would be easy to find credible evidence and testimony to that fact!)

What it really is is that some people are freaked out that this might just actually work, and if it does, their lives will change.

“Many people prefer to have a slick marketer blow in their ear and flirt with them, promising the moon and the stars.”

Others are simply tired of the pick-pocket circus that is internet marketing and want the truth.

The truth is that there are some honest people on the web showing others how to build and grow true, high traffic authority sites with access to one-of-a-kind software (not just wordpress templates for god’s sake) that makes the process so easy a child could do it.

Time to take the pill Neo chose and wake up to the truth. The sooner you do the sooner you can start making your move on those goals you have listed somewhere on your computer right now.
