Social Marketing Central Woman Stands to Lose Her Home

by Jack Humphrey

Her name is Trina L.C. Sonnenberg, and she’s in danger of becoming part of a growing group of people in the U.S. who are in danger of losing, or have already lost their homes.

But she isn’t sitting around waiting for a bailout. She’s being proactive and using her web business to pull herself out of the mess she’s in.

Here’s her message to Social Marketing Central members:

domestic abuse survivor Trina Sonnenberg“Since the economy has tanked, my husband is out of work. He is a building contractor, and self employed to boot. All of the projects he had in the works have collapsed because no one has any money to do them now, or they’re hanging onto every dollar they have.

As a result, we are one of the many who stand to lose their home. We’ve lived in this house for 11 years, and I cannot imagine living in a dumpy apartment with my son and disabled mother.” -Trina Sonnenberg, Author of “My Journey

Trina’s idea for fixing the bind her and her family are in is to take what appears to have been a side business, a book of prose and photography from her area, and ramp up sales.

She’s clearly using her friend network on SMC, and surely many other social networks, to get mentions of her great book out on the web to make enough sales to turn things around. I am happy to help. It costs more than $21.95 to the tax payers of this country when a home is foreclosed on. In fact, it is estimated that it costs taxpayers around $250,000 every time a house is put in foreclosure.

One woman is trying to save this from happening to her family by getting very serious about her book sales. People who are working hard to save themselves in this economy should be rewarded.

My Journey‘, is a collection of verse and full color photographs. It is a compilation of the last 27 years of Trina’s life, in words and pictures. The beauty of southwestern Colorado, where she has lived happily for the past eleven years, will take your breath away. Available in paperback or download.

So take a look at Trina’s book. If you think of someone you know who could use such inspiration, please forward them to Trina’s book!

Its great to see people helping out their fellow marketers. Thank you Jack! I hope she makes a ton of sales. Its also a great lesson on taking initiative and action instead of laying down and dying when things get tough.

I know exactly how she feels. She is definitely on the right track. She has given me a boost to continue in my quest as well. I am working hard to finish my website and learn as much as I can about this business. My prayers are with her.

Thank you for sharing this. Your timing is perfect.

Many blessings,

I bought the download version and it was very good. She did a great job of blending her verse and beautiful nature pictures of Colorado.

It well worth the money. Not only because it will help her and her family, but it’s a good book as well.

From Trina who is having trouble making comments here (anyone else having trouble?) It’s giving a parsing error to her.

“Jack, you are awesome! Everyone here is awesome! I thank you for all your help,
each and every one of you. Thank you to all who have bought my book. I’ve got
29,995 more to go to reach my goal.

For anyone who is helping me promote this, if you need any copy or banners, or
anything, let me know.

I love you guys!
Trina”

Just a thought - I also have a book on Lulu and for a while I have been meaning to publish it on Cafe Press as well. Cafe Press has an affiliate program so that could be used as another way of getting the book promoted. Cafe Press and Lulu can both be incorporated into Squidoo Lenses, but Cafe Press is the “default” whereas you can only find the Lulu module if you specifically search for it.

So Trina, you might consider adding your book to Cafe Press as well. :)

My heart goes out to you Trina.

While my internet “stuff’ is doing fine, I’ve had quite the year myself with my wifes issues - lost aprox 100K in income overnight - her illness, so I can relate.

Not that you asked for any Trina, but a little advice.

Do not let the anxiety or depression take a hold of you while going through this - it is extremely difficult to shake the darkness if it takes root.

God Bless,

Andrew

P.S. - I bought your book.

Hang in there; you are not alone…I have several friends who are ‘downsizing’ or whatever the term is for a smaller account balance.
