Have A Beer On Me at World Internet Summit!

I will be attending the World Internet Summit in Dallas, TX in May. I don’t do conferences much anymore.

So Why WIS?

Because a lot of friends will be there. Stephen Pierce, for one. He spends so much time in Australia and Asia that a chance to meet up with him in the States is getting more and more rare!

And because I believe Brett McFall, Tom Hua, and Pierce really deliver the goods.

Oh, and because registration is only $97. I hate paying thousands for conferences as much as the next guy regardless of how much is in the ‘ol bank account.

So, if you live in Texas, I’d love to meet FTR readers in person at the World Internet Summit. I’ll buy you a beer! (Or a suitable substitute for non-hop heads.)

If you don’t live in Texas, like me, I really believe this conference will be worth the trip. We just surveyed our big list and found that many readers are just perfect for this kind of training.

They even have a “newbies” day, the first of its kind, where they really break down the basics of internet marketing and making money online so that rank beginners can understand and not be intimidated by esoteric geek speak.

So, I’d love to meet as many readers as possible, including clients of ASC or SPL! The price is right and the “goodie bag” they are giving attendees is worth 100 times the cost of flying, hotel and registration.

The Art of New Media Copywriting

Michel Fortin is holding a workshop on new media copywriting and testing. Fortin, one of the web’s top performing copywriters with clients like John Reese, Frank Kern, Shawn Casey, Stephen Pierce, and some guy named Jay Abraham, will be showing people how to avoid the pitfalls of new media copywriting.

The web is wise to audio and video now. People aren’t impressed simply because you put up a video on your landing page. That is no longer a conversion tool by itself. Today, that video had better have some science behind it if you want it to actually boost your conversions and not drop them.

Michel is an avid tester and now he’s into testing copy for new media. In fact, on the next page he shows videos side by side that succeeded and failed to convert. Can you pick which one did better?

You’re Off To See The Wizard…

Are you confused? I don’t blame you.

If I had this much information to choose from along with a learning curve such as the one that faces every new marketer on the web now when I started out 10 years ago, I would be too!

What many people consider a good thing can actually hold new and seasoned marketers back: a plethora of opportunities, choices, systems, and business models for profiting from an internet business. Sounds great until you get “shiny thing” syndrome and end up doing nothing more than buying a bunch of stuff and never getting down to business with any one model or system.

Which is a real shame because while you are floundering, people are making vast sums of money on the web. People who were just like you are now: new and confused.

Add to that the fact that most people get in over their heads without ever considering that there are basics to learn before going head first into high-end internet business. A lot of people fail because they start out by skipping over a lot of the things they must know before they can possibly succeed with any internet business.

There is a gatekeeper on the web for internet business.

When it comes to direct sales, list building, product development and branding, there is one person you need to see before heading off to Oz. He is the Wizard, but in this case, he’s not faking it behind a curtain. This is a REAL Wizard.

If you are up to your eye balls in confusion and are leaving a vast chain of failures behind you, you need to see the Wizard. I have sent countless people to see him and he never fails to get people on track with their internet businesses.

Bypassing the Wizard before embarking on a perilous journey through the dark web of misinformation and misdirection is a 100% guarantee of failure.

Who Loved The Authority Summit?

Here are some posts popping up from my friends who attended the Summit this year in Vegas. Everyone seems to be talking up Howie Schwartz, my buddy and co-author of Bend the Web. As well they should be. He blew people away with his search engine-bending, conversation dominating results for competitive niches.

All the speakers were top notch and VERY giving in secrets and tactics. If you didn’t go, the DVDs will be coming out early November.

Gotta love it.

One of the things I talked about at the Summit was “Pavlov’s Blog.” You should recognize a bit of that tactic here. Training other sites to link to you is the same thing Pavlov did with his classical conditioning research.

For some “inexplicable reason” many people feel compelled to write about me, FTR, or my products and services. It’s actually “explicable” but you have to read Bend the Web to understand how it works.

Here’s a thought…

Hypothetically speaking…

Would you fly to Las Vegas to learn about one thing from one person if it meant you could come home and begin to dominate hot keywords in the search engines at will?

And by dominate, I mean be a significant part of the top 20-30-50-100+ results for a keyword topic. I mean up to the top 10 PAGES of results in Google!

Seems like anyone would want that information and be willing to pay a second mortgage to get it. What would it be worth to your business to do such a thing at will? You can do that math.
