My Shot With Animoto

by Jack Humphrey

Contrary to popular opinion, I decided to create my own Animoto with a picture of me in it.

This post could be entitled “How to look like someone who knows a lot about video editing and production without knowing much about either,” but that is just way too long.

Tips on Using Animoto

I went too fast! The little snippets of testimonials you see the the video above are too small to read. Animoto recommends a fairly large picture size in order to see detail in the final production.

I would go back and do those screen captures a bit larger so that at least the headlines showed up larger in the video. As it is, you can tell something is being said, just not what.

Don’t use large text blocks of any kind. Headlines and very short snippets of quotes or other text are all you’ll have time to read in one of these Animoto videos.

The intro picture of me is blurry because of the original size uploaded as well. So smaller pics with poor resolution when blown up will turn out the way mine did.

All in all, I’d say you’ll produce a couple videos before you get the hang of what to upload and the sizes that work best for both resolution and clarity.

But for a tool that only requires you to upload pictures and choose some music, I can see lots of people blowing minds out there with promotional videos of all kinds. They can look like a million bucks with some planning and a bit more time than I spent, which wasn’t much!

Animoto Coupon Code 08.16.08 at 5:02 pm

I like the Animoto service a lot.

Here are a couple more tips: When you are creating your vid, you can highlight the pics you want to stay up longer. You can also create a text card in photoshop and save it as an image to stick your marketing messages in your video.

If you want vids longer than 30 seconds, you can use the animoto coupon code -wsocgxqz - and get a whole year for only 25 smackers.

Enjoy!

but then how many times do you have time and patience to do it?
it’s just use once and go on, there are many more things in life.
overall, i’m afraid animoto can’t make enough money to meet the ends after all the hype is subdued.

At $250 a year, Animoto ain’t cheap but the results are fantastic!

Jack, yours wasn’t too bad at all but internet marketing kinda needs an authoritative voice over, unfortunately. Otherwise, 7/10.

Andrew, you have a decimal place problem! It’s $25/year not $250, well it certainly is if you use my code ‘zklrsoeg’ - it is a really wicked service indeed. Jack don’t worry about your image quality - I stick the mp4 into Sony Vegas and then just put the URL that you want to send the punters too at the bottom of the video. Then I put it through Traffic Geyser and it goes nuts! The $1 Trail of Traffic Geyser is available at http://www.1dollaronly.com.
