PheedPress: Only available to ASC members, this tool is the most advanced and complete RSS feed system out there. From creating custom feeds and putting autodiscovery code into your template for the engines to pick up to including ads in your feeds and tracking clicks and subscribers in many different ways. This sucker does more than anything else out there. Example of my PheedPress feeds is in far right column, bottom.

FeedBurner: Some tracking and a much better, more solid feed than you get with, say, Wordpress out of the box.

My top Social Power Linking traffic sources last week…

February 26, 2007

Scanning my log files I noticed some traffic sources, other than search engines, pushing more traffic than others last week.

Telling you about my top producers should help you to get into Social Power Linking more knowing what is working rather than fumbling around trying out everything yourself.

I try them all, so I will continue reporting on what’s working so you can save some time and focus only on producers.

1.  StumbleUpon.com

This site is simple.  You get a toolbar button when you sign up and you can “Like” or “Dislike” any site or page you wish.  You can mark up your pages, but it is also good to vote for other sites in your niche for research purposes.

This is helpful because StumbleUpon.com creates a track record of your surfing habits and you can “Stumble” to new sites and resources you’ve never seen before to keep up on your niche.

2.  PlugIM.com

I’ve mentioned these guys before, but they continue to send me traffic as I post “stories” (like this post) on their Digg-style site.  Everytime I post there I get trafficf and it takes literally under a minute.

I do this everytime I post.

3.  MarkTD.com

Same thing as above.  Both are for marketing content, but sites like this are popping up all over the place and will continue to do so over the next year.  You should be able to find sites like these in your niche now or soon.

I like these kinds of sites so much I made one for the Friday Traffic Report.

If you have marketing related content, put my IMNews on your list to post to often.

It’s brand new and most categories have nothing in them, but as you can see, I am sending traffic over there and it will fill up and start  generating good targeted traffic on its own very soon.

It would pay to be the first in a category!

Resource lists still rule the day for generating links…

February 24, 2007

Dosh Dosh wrote a great piece on linkbait through resource lists recently.

Here are some of the most linked “bait” posts I have made:

You can start to see a pattern when you check out linkbait posts that work for others.

How can you create a valuable resource list or post for your niche right now that can take off once people in your niche start linking to it?

It happens everyday. Why not make it happen for your site today?

Rich Schefren Is About To Do It Again!

February 22, 2007

Remember about 7 months ago when Rich Schefren released his “Internet Business Manifesto?”

If you missed it, you missed one of the most eye-opening reports of 2006.  For me it was the most profound wake-up call I have gotten in years regarding how to manage and grow a business online without being a slave to it.

Rich is one of my heros.  He is honest and knows his stuff inside and out.  And he is successful on a level that most people can only dream about.

He is a man to watch and someone who, when he talks, you listen.

Well, he’s talking again!

Check out his latest video (absolutely NO subscription or purchase is required) called Start Up To Freedom.”

This is required viewing for all my subscribers.  If you are just a reader of FTR, I can’t make you watch this important video, but then I can’t really make my subscribers either.  :)

Just do it, then come back here and tell your fellow readers what you think about Rich’s new video!

Get on over there and watch Start Up To Freedom right now.

Steal Rick Butts Safari Chronicles

February 22, 2007

My friend Rick Butts is running a 24 hour sale of his excellent personal development adventure novel The Safari Chronicles - for just $10.

This book is endorsed by Brian Tracy, Jim Rohn, and Dr. Denis Waitly - and me.

This is not an affiliate link. It’s just something I thought you would find helpful because we all need to work on both our business and ourselves.

Plus if I continue to impress the heck out of you with great tips like this one, one day I know you’ll return the favor and buy something I recommend that actually does make me money.

Rick is a no-nonsense author and marketer with a ton of successes under his belt. He is also a great speaker and teacher. You will learn a lot from this read.
It’s a pretty interesting sales letter, too!

Making sure your linkbait (content) gets picked up everywhere!

February 21, 2007

Garrett French has posted “5 Tips to Maximize the Distribution and Value of Your Link Bait” today.

He comments on Lee Odden’s piece about social media campaigns not being for everyone and that they are “one hit wonders” for the most part.

I disagree with that assessment of social marketing unless people who use social marketing only use it one time.

I feel that if you don’t have a system for producing results with social media regularly (everytime you post content) then you are going to get mighty tired and quit doing it.

People who don’t have a system or a staff member who keeps their content in the limelight usually question the usefulness of .

Social Power Linking, as I call it, is an ongoing campaign that works like many other forms of online marketing, in that, will stop producing results when you stop doing it.

(Although the links it produces are far more valuable long-term than doing old fashioned reciprocal linking!)

When you add up all the things we do in a well-rounded marketing campaign these days, there are fewer things you can do today “just once” to get a residual effect.

More than ever the engines are geared toward up-to-the-minute news and content while the lasting rankings are reserved for the major keywords your site scores best for overall.

I have some core phrases for this site (a handful), yet I am topping 2000 keyword phrases people use to find me each month that would be considered longtail.

Longtail search is a very dynamic, fluid and “evergreen” with pages moving all over the place month to month for our longer phrases.

Because I score for so many phrases a month, I am not about to cut off my social marketing just because it generates the bulk of its traffic around the time I publish something that catches on out there.

The links are valuable for as long as they stay live, which Odden did not mention in his post.

If I were to stay within the confines of traditional marketing, I’d have far less search engine traffic and for only a relative handful of phrases.

In the end, it is all important.  There isn’t a best method or, to my mind, a choice between any methods out there that work on their own.

If you want to dominate your niche, you use traditional and new media marketing in tandem, and on a daily basis.

Link Baiting Goes Mainstream

February 19, 2007

Thanks to the Wall Street Journal for defining linkbaiting! Tad over the heads of their readers probably, but all in all funny to see the term even mentioned in WSJ.

See the WSJ excerpt on CopyBlogger…

Reese gives that brand new beamer away!

February 18, 2007

At Stompernet Live last night, awards were given to Stompers who participated in an accelerated learning program.

After presenting their success stories to the audience, Stompers were asked to vote for the best story among the finalists.

The winner was to get some cash and a cheesy trophy.

Then Reese comes up on the stage and gives the winner the keys to the BMW (that John received from Brad Fallon the day before for being the top affiliate for stomper) to the winner.

From a trophy and a bit of cash to a new car, the guy seemed floored to say the least.

More news at 11.  :)

John Reese Gets A New BMW at Stompernet Live

February 17, 2007

Being a top affiliate for a hot selling, high end product brings great financial rewards.

The money is good whether you get outside incentives to boost your interest or not.

But when Brad Fallon handed the keys for a shiny new BMW to John on stage this morning at the Stompernet Live event in Orlando, the crowd was treated to a look at the other perks that go with successful affiliate marketing.

John has worked for a very long time to build the credibility and list it takes to be the #1 affiliate for Stomper (and practically anything else he recommends) so don’t forget the dedication effort that obviously came before that BMW!

Other Stompernet Live News

I presented to the Stompers yesterday on social marketing. Though there were some technical problems in the beginning getting internet access, I managed to get as much covered as possible in the short hour I had.

I found that there is no way to fuly cover traffic generation tactics with social marketing in an hour.

Luckily, I will be coming out with an all new version of Power Linking soon called “Social Power Linking.”

It will cover everything from top to bottom on generating free targeted traffic, links, and search engine rankings with social media.

Judging by the response by the Stompers yesterday, the interest in harnessing targeted traffic via social marketing is sky high. (More than I expected!

Keep an eye out for the new version of Power Linking. It will be a DVD release of the webinars I will be doing with the Stompers in a few weeks called “Social Power Linking Intensive Training.”

Watch for the next post to learn about something Brad and Andy are doing with video that is going to really rock!

February 14, 2007

“9 people who make so much money online it Boggles My Mind

These top individuals have taken full advantage of the Internet. Definitely the best of the best.”

I could add about 100 people to that list easily from my contacts, associates, partners and clients.

Oh yeah - the money is real and it’s real good too!
