One of the best ways to know if an expert deserves to be where they are today is going back in time to see if they put in the work when they were starting out.
"But," you say "time machines don't exist." On the internet they do. The internet never forgets. (Something to remember when you find yourself considering a used car salesman-style stunt to get attention!)
My partner Brandon just dug up an article from the bowels of internet history and shared the link on Skype. (Please Microsoft, don't destroy Skype!) I read it as though it was a fresh blog post because it was a great article. I knew something was up as I was reading because the site around the article was reminiscent of a bygone era in web design.
Still, I loved the tips in the article about selling high-ticket affiliate products. The advice is sound and as true today as it was in 2005.
I get to the bottom of the article and see the author bio:
© 2005 Anik Singal
This article is written by Anik Singal. Anik Singal has developed his own affiliate system that helped him earn well over $10,000 in just 60 days. Now, he's looking for a few students to train one step at a time.
I had just read an article by a "baby" Anik just starting to grow his permanent teeth, preparing to devour the internet marketing scene over the following years.
He was writing and syndicating articles back then because, you know, that's when article marketing worked like gangbusters.
My point is, it is pretty telling to go back in time and find a great example of why someone like Anik went on to do big things.
